In order to make a perfect cup takes time and experience. However, it doesn't take a rocket
scientist to do it.
Once you have good quality water, filtered or bottled, you are ready for the steeping process.
The process involves a combination of three factors: amount of tea, water temperature and
length of steeping. Based on the type of tea, the table below reflect Annapolis Tea Company’
s recommended settings:
Although the chart appears confusing and complicated, it is actually not all that difficult once
you get the hang of it. These are just general guidelines and each person may have
variations to match their tastes. The one variable not mentioned in the chart, the amount of
loose leaf tea to use per cup, is also the most important factor in determining the level of
flavor for the tea. We recommend 1 -1 ½ teaspoons of loose leaf tea per cup as a good
starting point. Ultimately, you are in control of your tea so the perfect cup totally depends on
how you like it.
